Excellent work! I really like it.

147 Votes and 188 Downloads. So they'll download it, but they wont vote on it. How lazy. Sucks...

I really this, especially the end. It's a really nice deep and strong track with alot of emotion. Keep it up Nathan.

Awesome. This is excellent.

Ive been following the contest for a few days, and this is an exceelnt entry. I love the power. You got a +fav for it from me.

Epic.

Flabbagasterd!

Where's my jaw? Oh yeah there it is...on the floor.

Nice piano.

I would of liked it if the start of it were an octave higher, and the notes were softened. It would have enforced a greater contrast between the second hand and start. Apart from that little picky bit you have created an excellent piano piece.

5 outta 5. :D

ChrisisD responds:

I know what you mean... I'll look into it soon enough! Thanks!!
Greets, Chris

Loving it.

A little too much reverb for me. But apart from that. You got yourself a 5.

:)

Louder isn't always better.

This is extremely loud. The crackle sounds like its because your levels are way too high with too much compression. It's a shame, because it has soo much potential to be a nice dramatic piece. I'll re-review it and score it again if you were to re-master it.

Right now it's about a 6.5/10 for me.
However I do score people 5 when I review for a few reasons. Namely because if im reviewing, it's worth a 5 and secondly, to weigh up with the 0 Blammers. Which always occur.

:)

Keep up the good work!

jbotsd responds:

thank you . .

yes the compression and everything is cranked because i use it in a live situation and i like to make the PA suffer . .

but the crackle is because i whacked it in there . .

ill remove and remaster and up it in the near future.

thank you for the critic
Jay

Ahh what can I say.

5/5 - 10/10
...You deserve it.

Excellent piece, a few times some of the strings went a little too high for me. But im a picky bugger. :P Excellent work al around. Love the theme.

blackattackbitch responds:

Yeah the mix was one of the more difficult parts of this song. Be glad that I turned down the brass instruments significantly or your ears would be bleeding hahahaha

I think I know which areas you're talking about though, and thanks for the comments, I do appreciate them!

Awesome piece.

I love the feeling of this piece its nice and subtle. Excellent solo trumpet and and soloist singer.

However, all this nonsense about 'you have equipment' is just nothing but jealousy. When did it become a crime to have better hardware than everyone else? Please release uptodate pieces, there are other composers here that are also starting off proffessionally (not me) but im sure they could benefit to see the sort of competition they would have to match.

nathanallenpinard responds:

I'm trying to, but with NG rules I can't release everything depending on the project.

Studio psh posh.

I for one think this is a tremendous piece. And take that as a large complement because my taste in music is score music from the massive array of big names in film.

The piece really kicks in and I love it. You've left me wanting more, and although you've left it short, you could have delivered so much more.

In my opinion this raises the bar here, in terms of composition and sound quality. I also agree with the fact a studio is anyone really with a high spec system. It's the knowledge of knowing how to use it to potential. People who give you a low mark for this stupid reason are being unreasonable. VOTE on the piece, NOT the fact he has a good system to work with.

If you ever have the time I would appreciate a low down on how you up your sound quality on your overall production.

nathanallenpinard responds:

Good comments. Thank you.

Love the deepness.

I have a massive bass on my floor, and this totally shakes it! You should bring something in over it eventually though, and really step up the kick.

Your tracks have great potential! And the bass is brilliant. Sounds clean and slick!

la-yinn responds:

Haha, that's what it's for! Shaking things up!

Yep, this was mainly an idea I had which I eventually made in about an hour and then submitted it, cause I couldn't find anything fitting to change the lead. (Life lesson: The deeper the bass, the harder it is to find a fitting accompanying instrument!)

Thanks for the kind words and the review! :D
