This is great! I love the melody! :D

For anyone wanting to know what DevilSheep is talking about. We made a deal, agreeing if he made a track, then I would also dive in and make something. Well THANKYOU VERY MUCH! lol, I had no idea you would do something basically within 24 hours! You are a man of your word. FFSake...now I need to do something!

Your track is great. :D Its fantastic to hear something from you especially after all these years of silence with such dominance. It has a strong pace and drive throughout and I love how it builds and builds, I'm an absolute sucker for that. The endings beast and extremely strong supporting an awesome climax. You can't go back into silence mode after this!

...now I better make some time to keep up to my end...

D3vilsheep responds:

Thanks Peter! :D

Nice WIP, I think you're a little dark horse waiting to get a bit more noticed for your audio talents. Keep it up.

The track is great and it's actually right up my street, I love this kind of build up orchestral composition. I did find the brass and Woodwinds a little strong, over your strings. So consider pulling them down a bit in the final version. I actually think you don't want to milk the build too much, and 6mins is quite long for the repetitive nature of it, and type of track. So consider possibly bringing that down to half the time, but make bigger jumps.

Hoping to see a lot more from you.

SuperTonic64 responds:

Hey, thanks PeterSatera! I appreciate the review, as well as your suggestions to improve the WIP. I definitely agree that the balance and length could use some work, so hopefully in the next build you'll see some pretty good improvements! I have a few other pieces in the works, and I hope to have some more music out soon!

Thanks again for your kind words! Even if I don't get noticed, I'm okay with that. I've been on Newgrounds around 11 years now, and I've had a varying level of success with a few of my works, but I'm not really here to be noticed as much as I'm here to improve myself as a composer. To be honest, the thing I look forward to the most is the reviews. That's the only way I've been able to improve myself, and reviews like this definitely help me do that! :)

Thanks again!

One of the most fantastic pieces I've heard on Newgrounds.

This track is among your best, and although it may not reflect to everyone's taste, the quality and your ability to create 'real' horror is more than apparent and pleasing to listen to.

I love your composition, to me it's right out of a film. Anyone who has a film makers understanding can hear the shot cut from a climatic horror scene to another at 1:50. The elegance is superb from here. The light hearted romantic theme builds and arrives to a moment of questionable nature. It would have been much easier to just build it to something with super grandness at 3:20, but you change in tone and structure, showing that you understand emotional changes that are required when scoring to picture. The composition arrangements that call for those changes to carry the moment do so very well, and so very smoothly too especially from 3:20 onwards. Then come to a climax within that scene. It's easy to hear that you have a massive grasp of visual and audio sync, not something which should be overlooked.

Your instrument choice is a natural and classical approach. I love how you completely control the sound of your instruments, and I know how hard you work to get them to sound natural to break any form of synthetic obviousness. At times it sounds so unbelievably clean and realistic! Waves of seamless use without the feel of an abrupt break, sitting very well together.

You performed classic horror very well. It's not about being a slasher, or getting jump scares. It's about grand eerie build, exchange, change and balancing those emotions and themes to give your audience contrast. The sci-fi element is extremely beautifully crafted into this too. Yet, instrument wise you never depend on any instrument to tell us that, you executed it very well with pure orchestration.

Your track although not devoid of theme doesn't stand up and shout it out to us, and that is far from a bad thing in this type of music. They way I recognize it in your music, is that It's not designed to carry a theme and shout it to the audience. It's purpose is to underscore and arrive the viewers at what the director wants them to feel and see. Certainly in the alien scores by Elliot Goldenthal the themes were always underplayed, and your track is reminiscent of that type of film score indeed. Lack of an overly dominant theme should not be a negative imo, it should be see that you carefully can craft an track maintain all our attention on it and never depend on it to do the heavy lifting.

This tracks is nothing short of fantastical!

Jakey-San responds:

I love you Peter

Have my dragon babies plz!

Very nice! For a trailer piece I was expecting some grand climax. However the track is really nice, and leads out well with ambience. Keep it up! Like the string/choir theme at 0:50, then how it turned into a very inception like underscore.

Dang! This is beast! 0_O Awesome work!

Thanks so much SoundChris for the dedication to me, and on my engagement. This is one of the nicest things anyone has done. I think it's an outstanding track considering how fast you did it, and how much pressure you are under. Anyone else would have given up considering your hardware problems in this round.

Your composition is superb, and testament to once again, you can turn your hand to multiple genres and create excellence. Thank you again, and keep publishing music every track is an absolute treat!

SoundChris responds:

Hey there Peter, i am really glad you and claire enjoyed my little piece. Again all the best with all my heart :) Yeah - this piece was extreme. Had to start yesterday at 5pm, so it really was critical. But i am very happy with the result. I think that under high pressure i just work better. My main focus was the harmonic progression, the counterpoint and the credibility of the genre - and i have to confess: This was a lot of fun to do!

Best wishes bro!

And you still don't know why you've been banned?

NG's is serious when you do this @FnPig. You were banned for a reason. You cant upload this here. When you do this, you damage yourself as well as open yourself to a lawsuit. You're releasing music under a CC act (when you submit to newgrounds), however the original works don't allow you to do so, you don't own this track to put it under the CC. So if someone was to use this track you put them and ultimately yourself in danger, because YOU are the one to re-release copyrighted music under the CC act when you have no rights to. Can you imagine someone using this track thinking it's under the CC. They get 50 Million hits on their video and then a production company goes for them. The video creator would have their video stricken down, and they would point the finger at you, saying you released under the CC so they believed it to be law binding. Then it's all on you. Obviously this is an extreme circumstance but we've seen tracks on here go viral on youtube, be stolen and put on albums, put on podcasts, etc all these things could come back to YOU. Why? Because you wanted to share a remix you love, and want to be credited for finding it.
It's seriously not worth it.

Newgrounds is not a place to share your music library. It's for original works created by the the user(s). We all have a large background in a massive array of music. So no matter what you steal, someone here will know what it is. We've had some people who created massive reputations but just to be found out they were thieves, you DO NOT want to fall into this trap.

I'd suggest you delete this track while you still can, before being banned.

And read the rules again.

This is fantastic PirateCrab!! Your mix and master is superb, and sits very well, balanced spatially. The drive in this is excellent and cannot be faulted, your themes are great and catchy too and when they change they never feel like they break the momentum. So overall a very great track which is consistently hooks the listener and is enjoyable.

I actually think a vocal or even two on top of this, which utilizes harmonies would have put this song into probable perfection for me. With the drive of the track and the superb themes I just want to sing along with lyrics, and I feel like there's room for that vocal in your mix. However, getting vocals on a track is a whole other ball game, and I can understand why they don't exist. Especially with your current time frame to develop over the first round of the NGADM. With this in mind your track from a personal stand point is well worthy or high recognition for both your talent and ability to create original and superb listening head banging tracks.

Nothing more than excellence. I look forward to hearing more, and really interested in where you develop in the future. More plz. ;)

PirateCrab responds:

Peter I would absolute LOVE to have vocals on this! The majority of my tracks are wrote in such a style that they can use either lead guitars for the overlying melody or vocals should the day ever come! Sadly, my vocals sound like a strangled cat ha!

Much love for the awesome review and high regards, I'll be sure to put out more veeeeeery soon :)

Those strings! 0_O!! Love this! The orchestration is superb! Take my 5!

Bosa responds:

I accept your 5 with open arms, bro home boi
