Superb

Superb Piano piece, you're very talented. Would love to hear a mighty orchestral ensemble version of this.

BatesyBates responds:

Thanks for the awesome review :D

Great work.

Excellent work, I think the sound is really nice and crisp, and the progression is really nice. The only thing I dont think works is the title, it sounds very inspiration, fantasy like and magical. But from the title I expected something powerful, bold and strong. However the title can not dictate the quality and great creativity that you put into this, excellent work all around!

Keep it up, love to hear more. :D

Wow !!!
A review from one of the most "Epic" composers here on NG. That's a compliment on it's own, as a fact :) Thanks.
Thanks also for your very nice words.
I like your music.
At the same time, I suck at finding titles. I always did :)))

Nice work!

I like this, it has a sort of puzzle feel to it, something you would here in an arcade Xbox game these days. I'm a fan of sound effects in music however maybe not so much the obvious coughing, I felt it was a tad random. I like the change at the end where it becomes slightly dramatic yet remains it's subtle riff. Good use of dreamy synths too.

Keep it up.

lidlurch responds:

Ah, i guess i assumed the name would sort of tell the story behind the name, and i just wanted to try something new. thanks for the opinion though, and thanks for the review! I showed a few of my friends your music, and they love it, just FYI.

This is incredible...

Woa. What a build up!

There's some guys that just blow me away and woa this was an incredible listen. It's just jaw dropping. You are an incredible guitarist.

Rottenbeard responds:

Thanks for the kind words on my playing and the song in general Peter, it is much appreciated. It means quite a bit coming from you after hearing your intense orchestral stuff.
I can only hope to be able to one day string together stuff like that in future projects and then smash it together with heavy guitar and drums like I always do ;)
I really do love orchestrated stuff, i'm afraid i'm just not terribly good at setting up the progressions, and even less patient in programming the necessary dynamics. If I could actually play every instrument my self, I would!
One day though... ;)

Many thanks for the awesome review!

Regards,
Daniel

Synths are sleek.

There's good use of synths in this one. I like how the bass is over to the right and the piano on the left channels, it really makes the track seem wider. I like the dramatic yet subtle approach you have to your music, it's really different.

The percussion is excellently clean too, I like the mastering on this piece. Great work. :)

I'll have to add you to my watch of fav artists!

lidlurch responds:

thanks! yeah, i'm getting better and better at mastering/ equalizing stuff. thanks for the compliments! this is one of my personal favs...i still have to edit a whole bunch of my other early stuff though xD thanks for the fav and review!

Dreamy

I like this, it's has a great sense of metallic fantasy. I love how you have a fast paced tune but it never dominates the ambience, I have no idea how you pulled it off especially when you merge a sound with another! The sounds are great and I really like the rolling bass at the start.

A fantastic track all around.

lidlurch responds:

wow...thanks thanks thanks! i was thinking about calling it fusion, but i couldn't get the arpegiating organ synth to go well with the metal piano part at the end. i feel like the ending could have been better, but maybe it's alright the way it is. thanks for the review! what can i say...i love bass xD

Stunning!

Gotta love this! Your compositions are always superb and im always stunned at how well you do this stuff.

It's fantastically dramatic.

D3vilsheep responds:

I'm flattered. Thanks Peter!

Excellent!

Same, I hate it when you have block. :/ I keep having tunes in my head and then cant really get what I want.

Anyway... More on the track. I really like it, it has a lovely adventure feel to it as well as magical. Excellent composition. :)

TommyUlysesGrant responds:

Yeah, block sucks.

Thanks for the review.

Superb!

Hey there! As a movie composer enjoyer I really like your track! Keep them coming! I love it. :)

Unfortunately you may find alot of 'classical' loving people will blam your track down because they dont like the film scores. Don't let it put you off. Keep it up!

Oh and Welcome to NG!

Thanks for you comment and a warm welcome to NG. I'm glad you enjoyed the track. As for the 'classical' gender, I chose it because in my opinion nothing else really fits better to my track. What gender available in NG would you rather recommend for this type of music?
I already noticed that the scoring system here does not always reflect the truth. I have found some real gems here with surprisingly low overall score - hard to imagine someone could vote zero to some of those songs.

Excellent improvement!

Hey there Lanix! great improvement you have here! The clarity of the track is much better too.

All you need now is a catchy theme, and you have it made. Keep up the awesome work! All the best for your track-making times in 2010!

Lanix responds:

Thanks man. I'm really startin' to get the hang of this now.
Haha, like you said, just gatta find that stable theme.
